In the southwest corner of Dongsi Shitiao Bridge, the Oriental Theatre across the street from the Poly Theatre is definitely a chic place in the city of Beijing. It is not a traditional cube or rectangular parallelepiped. The exterior is also wrapped in a copper-colored metal tube. Looking far away like a golden organ, quietly overlooking the traffic like a shuttle, quietly reminding people passing by: "You have entered the stage of the city."
Clean and pure, bright and clear, it is the intuitive feeling of walking into the theater. The ceiling of the lobby is the "sound" of the bronze masters of the theater collection, transforming the invisible music rhythm into a tangible interior style, undulating copper The sculptures complement the stage art. The café has a strong scent. The gallery displays the master's paintings. The audience can appreciate the beauty of the stage while enjoying the stage art. This is not a simple theater, but an art gathering place. An unforgettable artistic treasure may be in the next corner.
The crowding and cramping of modern urban space allows people to continuously extend their tentacles into the air. In the design of the Oriental Theatre, the designers cleverly introduced a number of “yards” for the building. They are like pores, making the building open and transparent. Conveniently, the designer distinguishes the public space separated by the architectural structure through the complete distinction between the vertical heights of different spaces, which not only satisfies people's willingness to explore the space, but also further enhances the comfort of the open art space and the private performing arts space. .
The rhythm of space, is it also a tangible movement?
"The design of the theater not only needs to consider the technical factors such as the intermediate frequency reverberation, the acoustic loss rate and the viewing angle error, but also the communication between the audience and the actors." The designer carefully thought about the project and showed the theater design. The joint is where it is.
Walking into the theater, the soft beige walls and red seats contrast with the dark stage setting. The curved theater dome is in sharp contrast with the regular parallel space matrix lines. Darkening, the eyes of everyone in the entire space, naturally focused on the stage, the rest, only the audience quietly observe the sadness and joy of the stage characters...
The sound of big sounds, the invisible elephants, and the use of space to highlight certain effects, often only counterproductive, the designer did not use music elements or shapes to remind people in the design of the Oriental Theatre, but they are using Space, color, lighting and detailing create the musical interaction that the theatre deserves.
If there is no mountain water, how can you know?
